Keystone XL a boon for jobs and local economy, lessening impact of foreign oil or an extra large pipeline of oil with a potential to damage ecosystems?

   Pay careful attention to the map of existing pipelines in the projected area for the new line, look at how many lines are currently in existence.  

 Why isn’t this oil being refined in Canada?   Fuel still has to be transported to the US and a pipeline is safer than tanker trucks. 

It’s not an ideal solution, but neither is our use of fossil fuels which is what drives these type of decisions.   Here’s more from Sierra Club scientists on the impacts of the Tar Sands:
